Faculty Colloquium

The WRG project sponsors an interdisciplinary colloquium on Women, Religion and Globalization and a related set of public lectures. This colloquium meets monthly to discuss faculty works-in-progress and to review pertinent scholarship in a variety of contiguous fields. Its goal is to increase awareness of work that is already being done on this topic throughout the university, and spur further research among faculty members, with a natural flow of research into new or enriched courses in various fields. It also aims to nurture research ties with and among colleagues beyond Yale, both nationally and internationally. The colloquium consists primarily of Yale scholars doing work in related fields but a certain number of doctoral students may be encouraged to participate as part of their interdisciplinary training. At least once each semester the seminar is opened to the wider community through a set of speakers followed by a public forum for discussion.
